The Twins right-hander will miss the remainder of 2026 after arthroscopic work on his elbow.

Twins right-hander Cole Sands will undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove loose bodies and bone spurs from his right elbow, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic. He is expected to miss the rest of the season. The procedure will also include a platelet-rich plasma injection.

Sands, a 25-year-old prospect with mid-rotation upside, becomes a significant loss to Minnesota's depth chart as the team approaches the August trade deadline and the final two months of the regular season.
