Jerry Rice is the consensus greatest wide receiver in NFL history. Drafted 16th overall in 1985 out of Mississippi Valley State, he spent 16 seasons in San Francisco catching passes from Joe Montana and Steve Young, winning three Super Bowls and being named the 1987 NFL MVP. He owns the all-time records for receptions (1,549), receiving yards (22,895), and receiving touchdowns (197) — and the gaps to second place are so large that no active receiver projects to catch him in any of the three. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 on the first ballot.
Draft Night
Jerry Rice drafted #16 overall by the San Francisco 49ers (1985 NFL Draft).
