The Giants WR's recovery timeline remains unclear, leaving his Week 1 availability in question and his draft status uncertain.

Darius Slayton underwent core-muscle surgery and will miss the Giants' offseason program, the team announced. His timeline for returning to full availability remains unclear, though the procedure sidelines him at least through the spring and early summer conditioning work.

Slayton has been a steady slot and rotational option for New York when healthy. In 2023, he appeared in 13 games and recorded 42 catches for 483 yards—solid production for a complementary receiver but not the ceiling-game profile that moves draft boards on its own.

Missing the offseason program typically signals a player won't be fully ramped for training camp, though it doesn't automatically rule out Week 1 availability. Players have returned from similar timelines before, but the absence of spring work does create a conditioning and installation lag heading into camp.

From a fantasy perspective, Slayton's draft value hinges entirely on recovery updates. If he returns before the regular season and regains his role in the pass-game rotation, his ADP and league value should remain stable. If he enters camp behind schedule, he risks losing snaps to other options and could see his role compressed.

The Giants' training-camp window in late July will be the critical checkpoint. Watch for any updates on his return date or further setbacks during that period—a clear green light or additional injury news will reshape his draft stock for 2024 leagues.
