Cleveland's center fielder, in his fifth season, has struggled early and lost the top spot for the first time in nearly four years.

Steven Kwan was moved out of the leadoff spot Saturday, ending a nearly four-year streak atop Cleveland's lineup. The 28-year-old center fielder is batting .231 (27-for-117) with a .477 OPS through 31 games in May.

Kwan has been a fixture at the top of the order since 2022, when he debuted for the Guardians. The lineup change marks a significant shift for one of Cleveland's longest-tenured contributors as the team attempts to find offensive rhythm early in the season.
