Stuart Skinner, acquired mid-season, is set to hit free agency July 1 after a solid playoff run in Pittsburgh.

Stuart Skinner is expected to leave the Pittsburgh Penguins in free agency on July 1, per reporting on the goaltender's likely departure. Skinner arrived mid-season as part of the trade that sent Tristan Jarry to Edmonton, and posted a .891 save percentage over 23 games in his first Pittsburgh season.

The 27-year-old became a locker-room presence and playoff contributor during his stint with the Penguins. His pending departure opens the crease for Pittsburgh to reset, though the team's goaltending depth beyond Skinner remains unsigned and undefined heading into the offseason.
