The run he allowed came on Ezequiel Duran‘s first homer of the night; Duran took AJ Blubaugh deep again later for a two-run shot, finishing 2-for-4 with his ninth and 10th home runs of the season and all three Texas RBI. No other Ranger drove in a run.
The standings are why this one carries weight beyond a series split. Texas sits at 48-47 atop the AL West, Seattle is 1.5 back after a fifth straight loss, and Houston is 47-50, two games out with a chance to take the series in Sunday’s finale. Texas won Friday’s opener 7-3, so the finale decides whether Houston leaves Arlington having gained real ground or just traded punches. This roster has played deep into October recently enough that a two-game deficit in July reads as position, not desperation — but the schedule only helps teams that keep winning head-to-head games like these.
For fantasy purposes, Lambert has quietly become a reliable start in most formats at 3.14 through 86 innings, and Saturday’s seven strikeouts were his most in a start since at least early June. Wade remains a streaming bat only when he sits atop the order against right-handed pitching, while Duran’s two-homer night is a reminder he carries short-term pop for AL-only rosters whenever he is in the lineup every day.
