The move is part of a series of roster adjustments following the team's deadline sales.

The Mets designated right-hander Bryce Conley for assignment as part of a roster shuffle following their trade deadline sell-off. The move came alongside resolutions for recently designated players including right-hander Joey Gerber, righty Kevin Herget, and outfielder MJ Melendez, a 27-year-old left fielder who has appeared in 12 games this season.

Conley joins a group of players clearing roster spots as New York retools ahead of September. The Mets have seven days to trade, release, or outrightly assign the pitcher before his contract obligations are settled.
